Donna Moore, Immediate Past President
As a Big Sister and a board member, Donna’s experienced both sides of the League. In late 1999 she was matched with her little sister, Aurora. Ten years later, they remain friends and still see each other on special occasions. Donna owns NotJustPets.com, a web site offering personalized pet remembrance books, and works on special projects through her company, Moore Productive. She holds a BA in English with a minor in Public Relations. After serving three years as President, Donna continues serving on the Board of Directors supporting the League wherever needed
Mary O'Malley, Co-Vice-President of Human Resources Oversight
Mary, originally from Ireland, joined the board in 2009. She has lived all over the world – Ireland, Malaysia, Australia - and of course, San Diego. Mary has an MBA from the Strathclyde Graduate Business School in Glasgow, Scotland, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies from Dublin City University, Ireland and the Professional Certificate in Human Resource Management from UCSD. Mary is looking forward to working with the other Board members and participating in the Human Resources Committee.
Janette Piankoff, Co-Vice-President of Human Resources Oversight
Janette graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology with a Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology. She is currently a Human Resources and Staffing Manager at Sempra Energy. Janette brings 15 years of Human Resources and Organization Development experience to the Board. She is lending her expertise in management development, performance appraisal and staffing to the ongoing Human Resources needs of the management and employees of Big Sister League. Janette is also a member of the San Diego Chapter of SHRM.

Deborah Moore, TreasurerDeborah joined the Board in 2005. A native San Diegan and self proclaimed Navy “brat”. She attended the University of California - Santa Barbara majoring in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting. Deborah is Director of Accounting for Photon Research Associates, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems.
Jeffrey Ames, Member at LargeJeff is a labor and employment litigation attorney at the San Diego firm of Paul, Plevin, Sullivan & Connaughton, LLP. He graduated from the University of Maryland Law School in 1998 and specializes in advising employers and defending litigation relating to employment issues.
Stormy Miller, Member at LargeStormy earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Alabama with a concentration in Program and Agency Administration, and has a Bachelor in Social Work. She is currently a Service Coordinator at San Diego Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled. Throughout college, she served as a graduate assistant in the UA Women's Resource Center, intern with Turning Point Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services, and intern in the Office of the District Attorney. She also has volunteered in London, England, working with individuals with mental illness.
Amie Brown, Member at LargeAmie Brown is currently the Director of Business Development for the Council of Community Clinics (CCC) and its two subsidiary organizations, Council Connections and Community Clinics Health Network. She has worked at the CCC for 13 years. In her role, she has been able to work closely with community clinics throughout the state of California, as well as on a national level. Prior to working at CCC, Ms. Brown worked in a feminist women’s health center, WomonCare, in San Diego. It was at this point that she knew that working for underserved populations and fighting for a stronger safety net would become her passion. Ms. Brown graduated with a B.A. in Women’s Studies and a B.A. in Sociology from San Diego State University. She currently resides in Solana Beach, CA and is the mother of two girls, Chloe (10) and Sophie (7).

Dhaval Prajapati, SecretaryDhaval is a senior at UC San Diego obtaining a degree in Management Science along with a professional certificate in Financial Analysis from the same school. He is currently a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst Intern at FieldView Capital Advisors LLC, which is a Boutique Investment Bank in San Diego. He is also the Vice President of Internal Relations for UCSD Financial Professionals Network, which is a mentorship program that pairs UCSD Students with Alumni Mentors (30 students paired last year). His passion lies in helping others by bringing a positive change in the lives of people around him and in the community.
Nicole Caltagirone, Member at Large
Nicole moved to San Diego in 2006 from Massachusetts and has since earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from S.D.S.U. She recently joined the board in 2009 and works for a Community Research Foundation program, which serves people with chronic mental illness and a history of homelessness. Nicole’s experience is a good match with the Big Sister League’s mission, such as her work with the mental health population, child protective services and past volunteering as a mentor. She is looking forward to helping the Board with expanding the mentoring program, event planning and developing additional funding resources in the community.
Judy Enns, Member at Large
Judy has been a board member since 1994 and has served in all board capacities. Judy received her doctorate in Communications from Ohio State University. In 1990, Judy founded HR Solutions to address the Human Resources needs of small, medium and large employers in Southern California. Currently the firm has seven practice locations throughout the west and in Atlanta, GA.

Siobhan Acosta, Housing Program Director
Siobhan is our most recent addition to the League as our Housing Director, as of December 2008. Siobhan is as unique as her name; which is Gaelic and pronounced "shi-VAWN". Siobhan is originally from the Bay Area and relocated to San Diego about 4 years ago. Siobhan has a BA in Chicano Studies and Sociology emphasizing in Public Health from Pitzer College. She also received her Masters of Public Health, Health Services Administration from San Diego State University. Siobhan has 13 years experience working in the non-profit sector both nationally and internationally focusing on underserved and marginalized populations. Siobhan most recently has worked with agencies such as California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, University of San Diego, San Diego County Immunization Program, and the California Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Siobhan has conducted research regarding access and utilization of health care services in Los Angeles, California, Lima, Paraguay, and Oaxaca, Mexico. Siobhan has presented her findings to the Ministry of Health, Oaxaca, Mexico and the National Association of Chicano and Chicana Studies. Siobhan’s passion is assisting in the re-connection of urban marginalized populations to much needed access to social and health services.
