California Wellness Foundation Awards Mentoring Program 3-Year Grant
The League is honored and excited to receive a $120,000 grant to help with our mentoring program over the next three years. The grant asks that we continue our great work with at-risk girls, specifically in the area of teen violence prevention.
Created in 1992 as an independent, private foundation, TCWF’s mission is to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention. For more information, visit http://www.tcwf.org
Trader Joe’s in Hillcrest
Every week Trader Joe's in Hillcrest donates food to the League. Thanks to them, we rarely have to purchase breads, muffins or sweet treats for the homes. We have shared some incredible meals built on their donations of fine meats, fish, vegetables and fruits.

Bill & Debbie Pollakov - Bikes for Kids Foundation
Once again this Christmas the Pollakov’s donated brand new bikes for our little sisters! Twenty grateful young girls received a brand new bicycle and bike helmet. In the words of one of our big sisters, Jeani Buchanan, “It’s really amazing how much a bike means to a child.” We thank the Pollakovs for giving something so generous to our little sisters that we wouldn’t otherwise have been able to give them!
Symitar
Recently big and little sisters created a “thank you” banner for our friends at Symitar. Symitar employees kindly donated backpacks and school supplies to the League.
